Customer Rating: Summary: Not a good forensic book Comment: This book may a hold a lot of information, but it's not all correct. Several of the concepts may be good theory, however are not true in real world forensic examinations. I would not recommend this book.
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the best forensic books out there. Comment: I had to buy this book for a forensic class I took in college. It's one of the best forensic books you can own. It covers everything from crime scenes to blood spatter analysis to fingerprint processing.
Priceless for anyone who wants to work in forensics. You'll keep this and reference it many times in your career.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Introduction to Forensic Science Comment: As a graduate student in Forensic Anthropology I found this book to include nearly all of the information I needed in my undergraduate classes. If I had only had this book before I could have saved a lot of money with all of the other books I have purchased. Not only does it provide information on all the important topics in forensic science there are also several illustrations and photographs to help the visual learners. I highly recommend this book.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent core text for any forensic science course Comment: Excellent book ideal for any forensic science student! Includes detailed information on all aspects of forensic science incl. recent advances in DNA and computer forensics..could not find any topics which were left out. Superbly illustrated with full colour photos. Chapters written by experts in their particular field. Definitely recommended, not only to students but to all forensic practitioners.
Customer Rating: Summary: not impressed Comment: This is a superb book...for junior high or high school students. Yes, it is easy to read, but I found the highlighted words in the text (to indicate they are in the glossary) to be a nuisance. The authors over-simplify everything and attempt to encompass too many areas of the broad field, so it will only be of use to readers who have never seen CSI or know absolutely nothing about forensic science. Saferstein's introductory book on forensic science would be a better choice for your money.
